Poppies in Hanbury Street was Pop’s first restaurant and the one where the journey began. The retro-diner and takeaway is close to Pop’s heart as it brought 70year old Pat out of retirement. A favourite of Clapham Junction's Northcote Road since 1990 - an awfully long time in the London restaurant scene - Osteria Antica Bologna is as fresh and thrilling an Italian restaurant as the day it first opened its doors. Ambience was great, food could have been better (the scrambled eggs were a bit too runny for me) and presentation could have been better as well. A lot of banging of plates and cutlery in the kitchen which was a little loud and distracting.
