Between the central locale afforded by its gracious home in the landmark Lord Elgin Hotel, a warm and yet contemporary ambience, a locally sourced menu and a casual-to-sophisticated stocked cellar, Forty-One has become one of Ottawa’s top new restaurants.Named Forty-One in recognition of the year, 1941, that the Lord Elgin was built, the restaurant features a modern environment and classic menu that is a perfect match for connecting with new and familiar faces. Guests are able to relax in the inviting lounge with flat screen TVs and large windows overlooking Elgin Street or enjoy an intimate dinner or a group get together in the dining area. With a capacity of close to 150, the restaurant features booths and banquette seating to allow flexibility to accommodate guest needs whether they are popping in for lunch, a quick after-work cool-down, a pre-theatre warm-up or an evening night cap. Wonderful surprise! This small restaurant has fantastic food, highly recommended the Mushroom dish with Lion’s Mane mushrooms! Also, the twist on Trini Doubles were amazing! Adam at the bar made a wonderful cocktail based on our likes and dislikes and was a great host! Nothing but superlatives.

Always love visiting this spot but we have to give a shoutout to our server who was phenomenal! He had only been working at Gburger for two weeks but you'd never know. He was beyond kind, attentive and really made our experience that much better. If I didn't know he was new we would have assumed he owned the place because he treated his role/job with such care of someone who's very invested in their workplace. So shoutout to hiring amazing staff!! Food of course was great, and amazing value compared to what you get now most places.
