Ruta Oaxaca Mexican Cuisine opened in Astoria in 2021 with such a wonderful and successful home run that a second location opened in Patchogue in March 2022.Ruta Oaxaca means “Road to Oaxaca,” a historic state in the southern part of Mexico. Mr. Castillo and his Partners are keenly focused on honoring Oaxacan culinary traditions, whose fame is derived in great part from its many varieties of moles. By legend, these ancient recipes are more than sauces, they are the very focus of the meal. Since 2006, The LakeHouse restaurant has been the jewel of Bay Shore, NY. In the summer of 2016, owners Eileen & Matthew Connors and Jay Gut moved locations to a brand new dockside treasure. With stunning views and multiple fireplaces, comfortable seating for 100+ guests, two lounge areas, deck overlooking the Great South Bay, and both an indoor tavern room and a waterfront bar, The Lakehouse is touted by many as “one of the best restaurants on Long Island.” At night, the deck is illuminated, as is the waterfront lounge area where guests can congregate for after-dinner cocktails. This New American fine dining experience is not to be missed. A little history on our namesake: The Linwood Hotel: John B. Pullis established the Linwood Hotel in about 1888. Located on the Southeast corner of South Clinton Avenue and Linden Place, the Linwood Hotel temporarily housed WW1 Navy flyers from the Bay Shore Aero Station while their barracks were being constructed. The Linwood was destroyed by fire on October 11, 1925.

    The Lake House was wonderful! The food and wine were delicious and everything arrived to the table in a timely manner, without the feeling of being rushed. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Overall an amazing experience!

    We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. The ambiance was natural and magically perfect! The food arrived fairly quickly, fresh and tasty. The staff are all friendly and we didn’t feel pressured to leave. The cafe is situated within a beautiful store setting which works great in my opinion. I purchased nice faux candles in the store section before leaving. I can honestly say we had a wonderful time walking around and looking at all the items and plantings they had available before leaving. Would I recommend this restaurant? Absolutely!!!

    The waitress we had was outstanding!! I wish I could remember her name. She had platinum blonde hair. She was awesome! There was an issue with my bill and she took care of it. I’m so grateful for her and the rest of the staff For checking in on me and my sister to see how we were doing. And wishing us a happy Thanksgiving. Also, the valet group was awesome as well.
