Bluestone is a Chicago-style restaurant in Evanston that offers homestyle cooking in a warm and welcoming environment. Owner John, whose obsession with golf led to the more than 250 pin flags decorating the restaurant, opened Bluestone after transitioning from commercial film production. His goal was to create a locale that was filled with friendliness and familiar faces, all while serving a variety of menu options with a hometown feel. Noel was excellent waiter. Made suggestions that we followed on our first ever visit. Butternut squash soup was delicious Smooth and creamy. Needed a tad more heat. Niçoise salad with rare ahi tuna asked not blackened was plentiful and very tasty. Substituted feta cheese. Their famous burger was justified. Carmelized onions and brioche bun

This is our go-to place when attending events at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts and it doesn't disappoint. Because we waited too late to book a table at our preferred time, we came a bit earlier and ate at the bar. Worked out great and the bartender was very attentive. Had the ribs for the first time and they were delicious; apparently the BBQ sauce is made in-house.
