The Shoulder of Mutton was originally the present Hill Farm, Hazeley Heath, and was transferred to the present site some time before 1875. The landlord’s name is given as James Hathaway. These days however, The Mutton is better known for serving wonderful British food with an aim to deliver great service in a relaxed, friendly, and informal environment.Head Chef Rob Boer has been trained by award winning Chefs and is now delivering outstanding dishes at The Mutton.The Mutton has recently been awarded 2AA Rosettes.     A nice pub with good food. There seemed to be a lack of staff for the service so things were not top notch. The food could have been amazing but the main course was let down by slightly overcooked fish and the fish had no flavor at all which let me very disappointed. I must say the starter and dessert were fantastic and the accompaniments to the fish were really great but as the fish was meant to be the star it was a let down. They did give our two soft drinks for free but really if a restaurant is trying to be a gastro pub they need to tick all the boxes. I would go back just to see if it was an off day but I have heard similar things from other people
