La Palombe is a new neighbourhood bistro from restaurateur James Chiavarini (also of Il Portico) & chef patron Jake Leach (previously head chef at the three Michelin starred The Ledbury).A large wood burning grill takes center stage where the majority of the dishes are cooked over live embers. James & Jake work together every shift to serve dishes with a real sense of terroir and provenance, including our speciality of wild foods foraged ourselves. Margaux is a modern European restaurant/wine bar. The French/Italian inspired menu includes seared foie gras, house made pork terrine, porcini risotto for appetisers and seared scallops, grilled veal rib and Barolo braised beef as some of the main courses. 100 bin wine list covers a broad range of producers and grapes, with an emphasis on old world wines. Amazing food from starter to dessert. We were a party of 4 and tried 4 different main courses- monkfish, venison, duck and rabbit. All were done so nicely. Great chat with the chef afterwards. The only shame is not knowing this place before and come earlier. Enjoy!

My guests and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Margaux. The menu was diverse enough to cater to light eaters as well as those who wanted heartier fare. The drinks menu also called for Mon alcoholic selections, a good selection of wine and cider, so everyone was accommodated. The service was spot on, there when you needed them but not overly attentive to the point of interrupting conversation. The ambience was buzzy but quiet enough to speak and be heard. We will return!
