Introducing Cornus, a rooftop space in Belgravia, the second restaurant from David O’Connor and Joe Mercer-Nairne of the acclaimed Chelsea restaurant, Medlar. Chef Gary Foulkes will lead the kitchen, joining from the Michelin-starred Angler to offer a regularly changing menu. Foulkes will lead the kitchen, combining his ingredient-led approach with flavours and techniques encountered on his travels around the world. Foulkes will create an à la carte menu of creative, elevated dishes, grounded in the traditional principles and techniques of French cuisine. The menu will showcase the best of the British and European larder. David will lead the Front of House team alongside Wine Director Melania Battiston.

Margaux is a modern European restaurant/wine bar. The French/Italian inspired menu includes seared foie gras, house made pork terrine, porcini risotto for appetisers and seared scallops, grilled veal rib and Barolo braised beef as some of the main courses. 100 bin wine list covers a broad range of producers and grapes, with an emphasis on old world wines. We were 15 minutes late for our 6 pm booking but this wasn’t a problem for the restaurant. We had the £25 pre theatre 2 course menu. Very tasty food, although my roasted chicken breast was a little dry, but overall it was still very good. Table service was great. Lovely waitress. As it was pre theatre we asked for prompt service, which we got. Nice and quiet so we could chat comfortably. Definitely recommend.

Excellent food and service. We have lived in the neighbourhood for several years but had never been. We have now been twice in the last month or so. Wish we had tried it sooner.
