La Palombe is a new neighbourhood bistro from restaurateur James Chiavarini (also of Il Portico) & chef patron Jake Leach (previously head chef at the three Michelin starred The Ledbury).A large wood burning grill takes center stage where the majority of the dishes are cooked over live embers. James & Jake work together every shift to serve dishes with a real sense of terroir and provenance, including our speciality of wild foods foraged ourselves. Margaux is a modern European restaurant/wine bar. The French/Italian inspired menu includes seared foie gras, house made pork terrine, porcini risotto for appetisers and seared scallops, grilled veal rib and Barolo braised beef as some of the main courses. 100 bin wine list covers a broad range of producers and grapes, with an emphasis on old world wines. Serving contemporary French food, this much-loved independent restaurant has been going strong for over 22 years. Before booking, please note the restaurant has both downstairs and upstairs. The same menu options are available on both floors. There is no lift upstairs. Re Tasting Menu Timings: At lunch you must book before 1.45pm, and at dinner before 8.45pm. Oh my goodness what a find! Delicious cuisine in a very smart decor. After our dinner head chef came over to check on us which was a really lovely touch - it turns out he is not just a great cook but charming too (none of this moody chef nonsense)
