A relaxed all-day neighbourhood restaurant, housed underneath verdant boughs of ivy and fern, our open kitchen dining bar is the beating heart of the restaurant. We serve a seasonal modern British menu with creative salads, robata grilled fish and meat and indulgent larger plates. The triple height ceiling fills the space with light, sound and serene colours. The Albion is a Georgian gem left over from a time when Islington was fields and farmland, and where the regulars would take afternoon walks out of the city to visit us. We have a lovely garden which resembles places found in the South of France, with the wisteria blooming and the willow creating a nice and relaxed atmosphere. In the back of the garden there is an old barn which used to be a bar, and the rumour is that the Sex Pistols played their first concert in the barn. Inside, the log fires create a lovely atmosphere during the cold months, where you can wrap up and enjoy a drink or food both in our dining room and bar areas. We are frequented by regulars from our local area as well as their dogs. We happily provide both water and biscuits for visiting dogs and love to have them around.

Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). I can’t say about the food as we didn’t get any but it wouldn’t let me proceed without adding stars and seems do I thought the rest was 5 * I couldn’t not give it that. We were impressed right from the start the team was so good and attentive. Even though we didn’t get a table at the front we got moved as they became available. The view was amazing we went just prior sunset so we got the best of both views. Highly recommend as a special treat. Decor ambiance and service was so amazing. Thank you

Everything was absolutely amazing, the food, the teas, the view, the people working there. However we did not expect the 15% service charge to be added to the price. But be had a wonderful time and do not regret at all to have chosen the Shangri-La for our tea time in London.
