It features an Omakase Chef's Sushi Counter as well as traditional choices by former head chef Masato Oyama at Sushi of Gari Columbus and Sushi of Gari Tribeca. Our other skilled chef is also from sushi of Gari.

Elephant District brings the flavors of Bangkok's riverside street food to Dumbo. Led by Executive Chef Ekapol “Top” Aranyawikul, our menu features Krapow Moo Krob, stir-fried crispy pork belly with Thai basil, chili, and garlic, inspired by his mother's recipe.     I had an incredible dining experience at Lava Rock! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with the perfect balance of elegance and comfort. The service impeccable and the food was outstanding, bursting with flavor. Overall, this restaurant exceeded all expectations in every way. We'll definitely be coming back!

    Amazing experience. Went for Valentine’s Day. Robby was an amazing chef. Super nice to talk to. Every course was better than the last - best sushi I had outside of Japan! They were also very accommodating to my dietary restrictions. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

    What a fun place to dine! Food and drinks were delicious and the decor was super fun! Friendly staff! Loved the conveyor belt that brought all the food and drinks and all the other fun sparkly items on the belt too

    My absolute favorite Japanese restaurant in Manhattan. Their sushi is perfect. Omakase, tempura, udon, dine in or take out, you can’t make a bad choice here. Friendly and welcoming service.
