Pat 'Pops' Newland has been serving authentic British fish and chips in London since 1945, and from this he has recreated a restaurant serving one of Britain's best-loved dishes in a friendly setting, surrounded by authentic 1940s/50s memorabilia lovingly curated by Pops himself. Our menu includes sustainably-caught mouth-watering fresh fish cooked in crunchy batter, served with golden chips and classic mushy peas, prepared on the premises by our onsite fishmonger. Tired of the loosely French inspired humdrum of restaurants popping up across the city of London? Do you like holidays? Do you like cold drinks and warm service? If you've answered yes to one or more of these then perhaps Tollington's can refresh both your pallet and your mind. The idea came from a mirror in an antiques market and a love for a more informal approach to dining, the result is a chippy in North London with old church pews bolted to the walls to be leaned on and eaten from. The focus is on fish but the menu transcends fish, mammals and vegetables, leaving no stone unturned in the never ending quest for flavour. Excellent omakase experience at kikuchi. The service was brilliant with attentive and knowledgeable staff. I recommend counter seating so you can watch Master Kikuchi prepare each dish with care and precision.

We celebrated my son's 18th here after a fantastic day in Camden he loves Fish and chips so we thought it would be a good option and we weren't wrong! The food was fresh and delicious and the service outstanding. They made a real fuss of him and we all had a great time! I would highly recommend Poppies!
