We are proud to say that we source most of our produce from Borough Market itself, and our fish is delivered daily from our very own fishmonger, Jarvis, which is renowned for its extensive range of the freshest fish and seafood. Pat 'Pops' Newland has been serving authentic British fish and chips in London since 1945, and from this he has recreated a restaurant serving one of Britain's best-loved dishes in a friendly setting, surrounded by authentic 1940s/50s memorabilia lovingly curated by Pops himself. Poppies in Hanbury Street was Pop’s first restaurant and the one where the journey began. The retro-diner and takeaway is close to Pop’s heart as it brought 70year old Pat out of retirement. Great décor, excellent service, excellent food. The staff were very attentive and personable with good knowledge of the menu and the food's taste and presentation was excellent.

We had a very nice table and a very attentive waitress. The food was absolutely delicious. The oysters were superb snd the fish was so fresh and delicious. We were all delighted with our choices and much looking forward to returning.
