Pat 'Pops' Newland has been serving authentic British fish and chips in London since 1945, and from this he has recreated a restaurant serving one of Britain's best-loved dishes in a friendly setting, surrounded by authentic 1940s/50s memorabilia lovingly curated by Pops himself. Our menu includes sustainably-caught mouth-watering fresh fish cooked in crunchy batter, served with golden chips and classic mushy peas, prepared on the premises by our onsite fishmonger. Pop’s career in the fish and chip business started in 1952 when, aged 11, he got a job on Roman Road cutting up copies of The Daily Mirror to wrap fish and chips in. We dined here for Christmas Day dinner and had such a lovely time! We made advance reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival and greeted with our welcome drink of choice. While they were extremely busy and crowded, our server was extremely attentive and the music playlist was on point. The whole staff was so friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed the food and overall experience very much!
