A French-Japanese bistro in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles. Reservations are always recommended, but we are often able to accommodate walk-ins as well. While we love dogs, we can only accept trained service animals (not emotional support animals) both in our dining room as well as on our outdoor patio. We appreciate your understanding.

An interactive dining experience from Michelin-starred chef Joshua Gil, Maison Kasai is an elevated teppanyaki restaurant that combines French and Japanese techniques with culinary virtuosity and a touch of performance art. Chefs prepare each course to order on large iron grills, cooking blini to serve with caviar, searing lobster with Normandy butter and vin jaune from France, preparing A5 Wagyu sukiyaki-style, and finishing elegant sauces — all as you watch. Open for indoor and outdoor dining and curbside takeout. Outdoors dining is subject to the weather. We have heaters but not for all tables. Please dress warmly. If there is a chance of rain we will have to cancel.Shiro has been named the Zagat Guide's number one restaurant and is consistently one of the highest rated establishments in the guide (#5 in 2011; #2 for service in 2013). Shiro is summed up by it's ingredients. Menu items are driven by the best available, nothing less is acceptable. For over 35 years, diners have enjoyed our French and Pacific Rim inspired menu. A tradition of fine dining with excellent, friendly service. We may supplement our menu with a special Taste of Shiro (soup or salad, meat or fish, dessert). Wed/Th. The evening's menu is posted around 3pm.As much as we love them, we must ask that your dogs and other pets stay home. Service dogs, of course, are welcome.

    Great dinner with a view. We sat in the indoor booth against the wall, which was very comfortable. It is a smaller place, but excellent service. Our server Keana was so kind and knowledgeable. The Brussels sprouts were not cooked well and were hard, other than that the drinks, sashimi and skewers were delicious.

    Food was amazing. The special highlight of the night is the mochi dessert. If it’s not the best it’s definitely top 3 best dessert in LA

    I’ve been here for my anniversary and my birthday, and each time was an equally exceptional experience. All of the staff makes it their main priority to make you feel as if you are of the highest level of importance. I love the scenery and vibe here — think high-end Tokyo meets Parisian luxury. The band was my favorite live music on Wednesdays is a must in LA oh and by the way, don’t leave without trying their oysters, creamy succulent, and delicious.

    The experience, as usual, was EXCELLENT. I have been going to La Boheme for over 20 years. It is my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles with the best ambiance. This time was even more exceptional than usual. Our server, Cynthia, went above and beyond. And her personable attitude, went very far with us. Thank you La Boheme for another wonderful date night.
