A Classic French Bistro in the heart of Edison Park has been a dream of Executive Chef and owner Joe Calabrese for several years. Joe was professionally trained at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America located in Hyde Park, New York. Before opening his other restaurant, Zia’s Trattoria (located one block west of Café Touché at 6699 N. Northwest Highway) in 1997, he was sharpening his professional – and knife – skills at several well-respected Chicago dining establishments including Ambria, Spiagia, Un Grand Cafe and the Park Hyatt. Joe lives in Park Ridge, a few short miles from the restaurants, so expet to see him in both restaurants assuring a quality experience for his customers. Inspired by the market, Chef César Murillo utilizes exceptional ingredients at the height of their season. His tasting menu reflects the Arts & Crafts approach of the dining room - complex layers of subtle craft beneath a simple decorative style.     An incredible experience from beginning to end. The food was innovative yet familiar, and each dish was incredible. Our server was outstanding and her enthusiasm when describing the courses and our wine pairings elevated the entire experience. Service overall was comparable to 3+ Michelin starred restaurants. We didn’t expect it to be *this* great, but they’re definitely overachieving at North Pond. Can’t wait for a return visit!

    Mon Ami Gabi is a perennial favorite, particularly for the holiday season. The restaurant is decked out for the holiday and always feels so warm and cozy. The food and service are excellent year round as well, but this is a special time to visit.

    The food was soooo good! Loved the Leek & Egg plant, Shrimp cocktail, and french onion fondue. Steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. The sides of fries, Cauliflower, whipped potatoes, and mushrooms were to die for! Needless to say we didn’t make it to dessert, but the service was impeccable and overall it was sooo great!
