A Classic French Bistro in the heart of Edison Park has been a dream of Executive Chef and owner Joe Calabrese for several years. Joe was professionally trained at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America located in Hyde Park, New York. Before opening his other restaurant, Zia’s Trattoria (located one block west of Café Touché at 6699 N. Northwest Highway) in 1997, he was sharpening his professional – and knife – skills at several well-respected Chicago dining establishments including Ambria, Spiagia, Un Grand Cafe and the Park Hyatt. Joe lives in Park Ridge, a few short miles from the restaurants, so expet to see him in both restaurants assuring a quality experience for his customers. Inspired by the market, Chef César Murillo utilizes exceptional ingredients at the height of their season. His tasting menu reflects the Arts & Crafts approach of the dining room - complex layers of subtle craft beneath a simple decorative style. We offer a four-course tasting menu with optional wine pairings. The menu is not á la carte, however, it provides options for each of the courses. North Pond is open for dinner Thursday through Sunday beginning at 5:30pm. Sunday Brunch begins at 10:30am and is three-course prix fixe. We do not offer valet parking.Tables in the front room or patio, overlooking the pond, are seated first come, first serve. We do not hold tables. All tables for more than 4 people are seated in our main dining room.     Holy moly! Every step of our dinner was out of sight! Try all three of the bigger than one bite amuses, the tater tot was so fun. The tuna crudo was fresh, citrusy with a little crunch from the baguette. We shared the NY strip with a side of whipped potatoes which was perfection. We finished our night enjoying the chocolate hazelnut mille-feuille with brown butter gelato…. Good lord that was dessert afterlife. This is one of those restaurants that popped up on my Instagram feed a while back and it lived up and destroyed the hype. The staff is fantastic and our server Sia was a fantastic guide, super charming, and we just loved our time with her. Can’t wait to return.

    We had a lovely thanksgiving dinner and especially enjoyed the Sushi platter. The turkey dinner was good but not as good as homemade. Our service was amazing.

    It’s crazy to think there are only three of these restaurants left in the world. We used to go to the Oak Brook location but now we finally got to visit the one in Chicago. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that this was the original one. It’s a classic French bistro fare with amazing servers and food. I highly recommend the steak and frites!  make sure to get your reservation early because we had to dine at 4:45 PM due to later dinner times not being available

    The dishes on the brunch menu were all delicious, the service was excellent, and we loved the ambiance of the historic 'ice skating warming house' building. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
