This place is absolutely amazing. The staff was so kind and helpful. The food was delicious. The environment was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come here again.

Came to Port Washington from Garden City on a recommendation of a "nice little bistro" in the French tradition...Had a very early dinner before 6PM on a typically busy Valentines Day. All liquid refreshments were better than the average fare at many French restaurants that I've dined in and the service was particularly attentive and cordial. It was good to hear Maurice Chevalier and Edith Pilaf when we could early in the evening, but that was quickly turned down by the ambient noise and chatter. So much for the early ambiance. Escargot, French onion soup and mussels (anise Pinod) all absolutely excellent as was the Chocolate mousse....Even the smallest detail of warm banquet was wonderful for absorbing any of the rich sauces. The main dishes and chalk board specials were more than plenty for any taste.....My only difficulty was the table tops (sizes) were too small for the dishes that sit on them and the dining area was too small for the number of tables. As such elbowing a dining neighbor had potential to create conflict as things were tight. My recommend: remove a table or two if not anticipating a full dining fair and raise the music.

Everything top notch here. Servers all available, sparking looking room well set up. Food from warmed bread to our brook trout almondine were just wonderful! A staple for us. Appreciate their late hours, much needed after a show at Tilles!

i hesitate to write this review because i selfishly don't want this place to be discovered. Actually it's been there for decades but i was just introduced to it a few months ago, have been 7 times and can't wait to go back again - next time for brunch which i hear is a treat. Cafe V is a truly welcoming spot, wonderful European ambiance and the most gracious efficient staff you will find anywhere. I've been for lunch and dinner and it never seems crowded or rushed therefore the noise level is subdued esp compared to other places on a Sat night. The menus has a wide selection of uniformly delicious apps and entrees; everything my friends and i have ordered has been yummy. I especially love the blackened salmon salad; i could easily eat it every day but the buddha salad, the burgers and the other seafood is equally praiseworthy. And save room for dessert where Cafe V really excels- there is a huge selection of cakes, tarts and pastries all of it irresistible, esp the fruit tarts. The prices are quite reasonable esp for Greenwich and considering the caliber of the food and the overall wonderful experience I hope im not my own worst enemy in posting this review but Cafe V deserves to be singled out.

The experience was very nice. The food was excellent. I had chicken martini, while my wife had spaghetti with shrimp fra diavlo. Both were expertly prepared. We shared a tri-color salad, which was good but because we shared it, you would say its on the smaller side. No dessert. Wait staff was attentive. It was a Tuesday night and not very busy so we were well cared for. All-in-all, it was very pleasant.
