The Harwood Arms re-opened in September 2008 after some much needed refurbishment. This rural haven in the middle of Fulham is a collaboration between Brett Graham of the famed Ledbury restaurant, Mike Robinson of the acclaimed Pot Kiln pub in rural Berkshire and Edwin Vaux from the famous Vaux brewery. The idea is to provide Londoners with a really relaxed venue for eating the finest British produce, cooked amazingly well, accompanied by excellent beer and wine at a great price.

The Fox & Pheasant is a little “country” pub tucked away in a small corner of Chelsea. The pub was founded in 1846 and it began its life as the Bedford Arms. Ten years later it changed to the Prince of Wales and in 1965 became The Fox & Pheasant and we have no intention of changing its name again!Not only are we a snug pub in the winter with 3 fire places, a dartboard and dog biscuits for the well behaved companions (dogs)! I ate here 12 years ago. It was so memorable I had to go back during my first time visiting London since then. And it was even better. Than the memory. That is rare. I have never had venison as tender as wagyu beef before. I feel connected with the ‘āina, as we say in Hawaiian, through this food. A meal at Harwood Arms is akin to a ramble in the countryside, and a bit of a history lesson to boot. Chestnut soup with a surprise of chestnut mushrooms at the bottom—it made me chuckle!
