Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate translated into an abundance of fresh produce as well as treasured seafood and game. Legend tells that Kokkari is the site where Orion, a mighty hunter and a young man of gigantic stature and great beauty, fell in love with the daughter of the king of Chios.     We loved the welcoming staff and server. The food is delicious, and the drinks are original (not a full bar). But we were rushed toward the end of our meal because all the other patrons had left, and the staff wanted to close up. In total, we were in only for 56 min, and at 8:00 pm, we were in the street. I didn't have time to finish my drink. We will again, though.

    Wow! What a find! Every dish was so full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The staff was friendly and attentive without being pushy at all. We Loved the lamb chops, the kefte meatballs and all the delicious Mezze spreads served with warm toasted pita wedges. Even chicken souvlaki was not boring but cooked to perfection and flavorful with lovely sides of labne and roasted potatoes. The Baklava is unique unlike what you would expect. Delicious without too much honey syrup and made with fresh walnuts! We love Mediterranean food and Milos compares with our favorite places in the city! Enjoy!
