Heritage pub turned Greek Islands-inspired paradise, Golden Fleece Hotel has brought Santorini to South Melbourne. Entering off Montague Street, you’ll find curvaceous, stone-look tables, booths and an adjoining bottle shop where the walls are lined with vino you can take away!     We dined on a hot day. 36C. The lack of air conditioning made it an uncomfortable sitting. Saying that … the food was amazing! The staff friendly, accomodating when we requested to move to a cooler position. Knowledgeable about how much we should order … they were spot in. I will def be recommending to friends & will be back. Just not on a hot day. The seafood platter & meat platter fed 5 of us. The halloumi chips were some of the best we’ve had.

    Group of three for birthday dinner before a show at Princess theatre. Everything we had was fresh and tasty and just right. We recommend the sausage, cheese balls Greek salad, meatballs and for dessert orange filling pita and halva ice cream combo is to die for. Will recommend and go again. Only downside for me is the noise, there was felt running along the wall but the business should consider an acoustic treatment to the ceiling too.

    Quite simply one of the best, if not, the best Greek restaurant in Melbourne. Great food, exceptional service and a great drinks list. The cocktails, in a particular, are first rate.
