At Urban Tandoor, you will be able to take a delectable culinary tour of India and Nepal. Delhi Dhaba was established in July of 1991 by a local Arlingtonian family that emigrated from New Delhi to the United States in the 70’s. Their vision was to bring the colors, flavors, and riches of a traditional Indian Dhaba to the locals in the metropolitan area. Traditionally, a Dhaba is a roadside restaurant or cafe found on highways and on the outskirts of cities, towns, and villages. Dhabas were initially started by enterprising Punjabi’s to cater to the needs of truckers, for wholesome, clean, and hot authentic Punjabi food at any hour of the day or night. Over the years Delhi Dhaba has become one the most well known and respected Indian restaurants in Arlington. The family continues to push the envelope of new ideas everyday while staying true to their culture and values.

The tandoor-baked breads are not mere swabs for sauce but could be eaten, and enjoyed, on their own; the naan with cilantro and rock salt is terrific, as is the kulcha richly stuffed with minced lamb. Masala Art offers combinations you don't see often around here, but even its more familiar dishes can be revelations. Consider its samosas. They're flakier than a lot of the competition, and their filling of peas, potatoes and sweet raisins tastes fresher, too. A burst of cardamom in every bite helps.     Loved our dinner at Bombay Club. We ordered the fish in naan leaf and scallop chettinad for appetizer. Both were delicious. For main course, we ordered railway lamb curry, halibut mapas, chicken tikka, daal makhani with naan, rotis. all dishes tasted awesome - freshly made and very authentic. The ambience is also very good. A very good Indian restaurant! Highly recommend it.

    One Michelin Star (and all that implies) with two prix fixe selections and alacarte menu. (1) Self select 4 items from 4 groups, $90) or (most) Chefs Selection 7 items plus desert ($150). We did Chefs Selection, excellent flavors and great value. The last dish was an aged duck breast dish with all typical Indian sides (Naan, rice, curry dipping sauces). The cocktail menu and wine list were amazing. Easily worth

    If you are looking for a consistently good experience, Urban Tandoor is your place. The naan is fluffy yet crispy, the chicken tikka masala has a tasty rich sauce, and the vindaloo is nice and spicy! The servers are all very nice and attentive. Anytime we are in town and are craving Indian, we hit up Urban Tandoor!
