Last minute date night. I am in the hospitality business, work down Main Street in Islip. My happy, delicious go to place is Butera’s in Bay Shore. Food spot on (always) front desk, bartendar Chris thank you for my pumpkin martini ….. looking forward to the new winter cocktails starting this weekend! Tara was our server, we love her. All was great w the exception of the server squeezing a to go bag on the table full of wine glasses leading to me having a full glass of red wine in my lap! Luckily it was the end of the dinner so I at least enjoyed my night for the most part!

Lovely little bistro. Excellent food and service makes this a win win local spot. Plus the view of the lake is enchanting.

Absolutely everything we ordered was perfect. And it was hard to make a decision so we’ll have to to come back. There were so many options that I loved. My friend and I ordered dirty martinis, mine had blue cheese, stuffed olives, and hers did not because she doesn’t like that. They were perfect. Then we both ordered a Manhattan with Rye, which was also lovely, although the restaurant should probably invest in some better cherries… You should have Amarena cherries on hand with craft cocktails.  For appetizers, we got the risotto balls, the meatballs, and the artichokes oreganata… Everything was fantastic and we took some home. For dinner I ordered the Andrew’s chicken, my husband ordered the spicy chicken with the cherry peppers, and our friends ordered the shrimp over spinach. We were way too full for dessert but next time I’m getting the espresso martini flight for dessert! Our waiter was not around enough, but he was super busy from what I could tell— the place was jammin.’ However, there is plenty of other busing staff and food runners that were always on hand to help with anything we needed. We will definitely be back. 

Marys is my favorite resturant. I had my wedding there. It’s Our place for every occasions and the occasional week night dinner.
