La Bistro Italian Restaurant’s house specialties include the chicken La Bistro with portobello mushrooms and shallots in a brandy dill sauce, the veal Jerusalem sautéed with artichoke hearts and fresh garlic and the filet mignon madeira in a luscious wine and mushroom sauce. La Bistro is one of a small handful of restaurants in the DFW area that dry-ages it's beef in-house. In the 1950's our grandfather, Giacomo, came to live the American Dream. He moved from Saviano, Italy to live in Long Island, New York. He met his wife and started a family, opening their first location in Long Island, New York, named Village Pizza. As business flourished, we moved to a larger location and changed the name to Alfieri Brothers’ Pizzeria. Again, we outgrew the size of the restaurant and relocated to a larger side of the center where we have remained since 1991. The following year, Saverio Alfieri decided to head south and expand the family business by opening a location in North Texas. Since then, Saverio and his two sons, Anthony and Giacomo, have managed to create one of Dallas/Ft. Worth’s best kept secrets. As always the food was delicious and we also took home some pastries. The service was attentive but our server wasn’t comfortable opening our wine bottle. She sent another gal who broke the cork and then a 3rd server came with a new bottle and he was successful! This last server did check on us after our food came out and we had a laugh or 2 at his mispronunciation of Ricotta. Italians know how their food is pronounced so that won’t fly and we like to drink wine. PS Chef Joey’s Pinot was heavenly.
