A typical food love story. A boy meets a girl while eating pizza. He attends culinary school and open’s a pizza restaurant named after the girl. Thus bringing us to Emily! The Manhattan iteration of the Brooklyn based pizzeria centered around a historic brick oven and comforting food. Emily has earned a following for its signature Detroit-style pies and award winning burger. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled on the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. Beyond the main event, the menu extends to include salads and sandwiches, which shouldn't be ignored (think an attention-grabbing burger and a top-notch spicy fried chicken sandwich). Please note, there will be a time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes for guests so we can fairly utilize our limited capacity. Our outdoor dining is enclosed with heaters that will keep you toasty! We were warmly welcomed, enjoyed aperitifs at the bar, and then went upstairs for our Pasta Tasting menu with wine pairings. It was heavenly from beginning to end! Kudos to our attentive and friendly staff, who described each course in detail, as well as describing each wine pairing. Special thanks to Henry, our primary server, who made each course extra special and described each wine pairing. The wait staff was professional. welcoming, and added extra charm to the evening. For me, it was the kick-off to my birthday season, full of delight and delectable food and wine. Babbo deserves every accolade in the book, except for too-dim lighting. Can't wait to return! Mille grazie!!!

The dinner was spectacular in every way. Hygge in New York! The atmosphere was cozy, congenial and filled with Christmas cheer. Flowers and soft candle light everywhere. The punterelle salad was perfectly dressed with ample anchovies, the sea bream en papillote was tender and infused with deep flavor. Add a perfectly balanced negroni sbagliatto to start and the evening was perfect.
