Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den. Last night was our first time at the restaurant. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and the food. He suggested that we let him make a menu for our dinner. He inquired about our likes and dislikes and created a wonderful food experience. There were three of us and enjoyed everything we had.

Food was excellent.. The baked New Zealand mussels were super. my dining partners said the sushi was very good, with a very nice presentation. good value for what we had. server was pleasant....but busy. a request for extra ginger never came, the main courses did not come out together (busy kitchen). these were very minor things, otherwise would get 5 stars. definitely worth trying this restaurant if in the mood for asian food.
