We wanted to create a place where a night out with the kids didn’t mean food adults had to suffer through or a night out with the parents didn’t mean a stuffy place where kids had to wear a scratchy clip-on tie. Shinsei is just that: a neighborhood gathering place with date night appeal. But not so unexpected that you won’t be able to decipher the menu or recognize your favorite dish. The food is excellent with a nice range of options so even “picky” eaters can find something that they like. The service is also great—servers are friendly and helpful. It was quite loud last night, but there were several Birthday parties and of course Holiday cheer. Generally when we’ve been there I would say the noise level is medium.

Beautiful ambience and pot stickers were excellent. Rolls were also very good but a little pricy for portion size, but that's expected with higher quality. Will be coming back!
