Momotaro is a multi-level Japanese restaurant located in the West Loop. Led by Executive Chef Gene Kato, Momotaro has had the honor of being named Restaurant of the Year in both Chicago Magazine and Chicago Social. Under Kato’s leadership the restaurant has come to define the balance between traditional values and modern technique, blending the two in a science and art that has resulted in an authentic, innovative menu. From the moment we walked in and were immediately seated at the requested window table until we departed more than 2 hours later, our experience was impeccable. The staff was accommodating and let two friends catch up on our goings on. I highly recommend the glazed salmon and smoked carrots.

Submitting a review to commend the host team on Saturday, January 4. Competent, confident, and creative. I know I’m not the only customer who felt the same way. I should have gotten her name, but all restaurants should have a team leader who knows how to roll with the punches and is willing to take calculated risks to satisfy the maximum amount of customers. Well done.
