We were celebrating a birthday for our 9 year old granddaughter. All 6 of us enjoyed the food and ambience. The food was delicious, and the kids meals were special, as well. We were very impressed with how the staff cater to children, from beginning to end. The birthday girl was presented with some chocolate brownies and a cute ice cream sandwich. We will return for sure!

We had a wonderful experience at Tonkatsu Kuro. Amazing food: tonkatsu was done perfectly, perfect crust, soft and delicate. The soba noodles were slightly softer than I like (I like al dente) but was still flavorful. The service was good and plenty of wait staff checking in on us. 10/10

We dined here during Happy Hour and left extremely happy! The service was excellent, the Happy Hour Omakase was delicious and such a great deal at $35 for 10 courses. Our favorites were the sukiyaki with egg, tsukune (ate it with the leftover egg), and beef tongue (not part of the omakase). Highly recommend and will be back again. Mahalo for making our celebration special for us Yakitori Hachibei!

Had to get my miso butterfish fix at Kuni’s. I normally put in a reservation even when we go early (before 6pm) bcuz you never know when everyone gets the urge to drop in. You can tell all the regulars! Open Table takes credit card with reservation, charge $1 which you get back later. They don’t take reservations over the phone. But it’s easy to do online through their website or Open Table. I guess I should use Open Table app since you can get rewarded for reservations. (Duh I just noticed today) I like eating in the main dining room side which is a little quieter than bar side. Everyone is so nice there… and as soon as you give your order, you start getting your hot miso soup, hot rice, salad, pickled vegetables, water, and beverages (chilled filtered sake in the little blue bottle). Soon after my butterfish arrives! Yum! Service is so fast!!! So we are never waiting long when we’re hungry. Last time my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I ordered sashimi with my butterfish… I couldn’t eat it all, so now I know just to order my miso butterfish (I think still $19) and I walk out FULL with a little rice left in my bowl. Hard to find a nice Japanese restaurant that won’t cost you an arm and leg, great food, awesome service, fast and easy to find. They said sizzling steak is 50% off on Wednesday and they are quite busy on that day. Maybe we will try it out one day. Our golf gang enjoyed it… so close to West Loch.
