Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den. The menu is arranged in a tapas style, serving traditional Japanese small plates along with dishes infused with international flavors and textures. The more traditional Japanese offerings include sashimi and nigiri, sourced from daily fish shipments from around the globe, along with dumplings and noodle dishes. We put all of our trust into our server who was amazing. The taste, presentation and general ambiance felt so personal and was outstanding! We will absolutely be going back for the jalepeno yellowtail, sushi, spicy tuna and crispy rice.

Sushi is always fresh and delicious and atmosphere is lively and energetic. They had a few new menu items which included the kanpachi and matcha tiramisu. Both were outstanding.

HIDDEN GEM! I stumbled across ads and recommendations while searching for a new local sushi place to try. Very reasonable price point and EXCEPTIONAL quality. After the first course, we started planning a repeat visit for an upcoming Omakase (chef’s choice) dinner, which they offer ~ monthly. The owner Jesse even stopped by to chat when she learned it was our 1st visit. Bonus: Basic hot sake is very affordable too!
