Inspired by Japanese izakayas, roughly translated as a pub or place designed for informal eating and drinking, Flesh & Buns is the first restaurant in London to specialise in gua bao buns (DIY filled steamed buns).     Despite there being a slight Valentine’s Day delay, the food was incredible, and the service was absolutely amazing. We sat right at the bar, able to watch the chef prepare the food, and it made for an incredible experience. The chef talked us through his work and experience whilst also sharing tips for our upcoming trip to Tokyo.

    Booked for a surprise date night, the food, setting, atmosphere and service did not disappoint. We opted for the 13 course taster menu and the waiter helped us to test and pair a bottle of Sake. We were amazed with every dish that came out and wondered how each could maintain the high level consistency. We never felt rushed and had a great chat with our waiter who was very knowledgeable on the dishes and ingredients. Absolutely highly recommend and certainly worth the value. You definitely get what you pay for here. Will definitely visit again soon. Thank you for your service and wonderful experience.

    Finally we’ve found a great little sushi spot near our hotel (Marriott Regent’s Park). Welcomed warmly and the three of us decided to sit at the bar. Everything tasted great and was reasonably priced for London.
