At the edge of the CBD, in the spectacular 22-hectare waterfront precinct where an old container terminal once stood, discerning foodies can now find some of the city’s best sushi in Barangaroo. Established in 2016, the newest addition to the Zushi restaurant empire is in Sydney’s impressive new harbour foreshore playground. Zushi Barangaroo is both stylish and comfortable, capturing the relaxed style of a typical Japanese bar or izakaya designed by the renowned architect Koichi Takada. Masuya Restaurant is located in a building, which has been designated as a cultural asset, on O’Connell Street in Sydney. This is the same place as the office of Kanematsu Gosho, the pioneer of Australia – Japan trades, was situated in 1980. Masuya Restaurant opened in 1993, then full renovation was implemented in 2006.The approx. five meters long sushi counter, designed by architect Robert Toland in ‘kabuki red’ with an idea of the stage of kabuki, has since fascinated not only local Australian customers but also various people with different backgrounds.A showcase displays more than 20 different sushi ingredients everyday including locally produced fish, which is purchased on the day. Other carefully selected ingredients are wagyu beef, free-range pork, and seasonal vegetables.     Friendly staff, delicious food, great atmosphere! Staff accidentally touch my chopsticks, instantly apologised and replaced with new. We ordered 3bottles of sake and was served with clean cups each time.

    Everything was great! The staff are nice and welcoming, the food was delicious and the staff brought each dish out with great timing. It was Friday night, they had live jazz music and it set the mood nicely!

    Thank you for an amazing lunch, the service was exceptional and the food to die for. Especially the Prawns and the Toothfish (which is the first time I have ever eaten out and had it cooked perfectly). The Cauliflower Karaage was so beautiful and fresh it blew my socks off. Thank you again to all the team for a memorable dining experience.

    It was my birthday dinner and the night was so lovely . The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious . I love sitting outside in the courtyard and my guests loved the evening Z thankyou so much for making it a perfect night for me and my friends and family

    My friends and I had a great time at By Sang. The food was delicious and the service was attentive. The stand out dish to me is the dry aged duck. It was full of unami. We also enjoyed the chirashi donburi with the fresh seafood and also the fact we can make our own hand sushi with the seaweed sheets.
