Welcome to Tempura Matsui –A Michelin One Star–Tempura Matsui invites you to experience the fine art of cooking tempura. Within a serene setting, guests have a seat at our counter or tables and can view the delicate preparation of lightly frying fresh fish and vegetables. We only serve Omakase Dinner Course for $280 per person at 2 specific times Tuesdays through Saturdays between 5:30PM and 8PM. Also, we serve a Lunch Course for $160 per person at 12 noon only on Fridays and Saturdays. Open irregularly on Sundays. Tempura Matsui is designed to emulate a Japanese cottage with warm woods, slate floors. A five-seat bar allows guests to wait for their seats while enjoying a glass of wine, sake, cocktail, or beer. Nami Nori has quickly become me and my husband's go-to Saturday/Sunday brunch spot. There's not a single temaki roll that we've tried so far and not liked or LOVED. Get the Nami Nori salas to start, so delicious! The service is excellent. You're a little close to your neighbors at the tables/bar, but I've never really found that impeded my excellent experience here.

Exceptional omakase experience. Our 4th trip and so grateful to have this gem in neighborhood and affordable. For now: BYO drinks. There is always something new to try and the chef is masterful in preparing the fish. The rice is key, and we can only name 2 places that have the best rice. (The other place has a Michelin star). We love omakase where the fish is the centerpiece and this place doesn't disappoint.
