Deme, short for Demeter, (the Greek Goddess of the Harvest) is a new Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean Sea-inspired poolside eatery at Hotel Figueroa, with nods to the sea-faring communities along the Eastern Mediterranean Coast, Turkey, and Israel, led by Executive Chef Blake Shailes. The Bacari restaurants are my LA go to. Tonight I brought family who had been to other locations but never to Silverlake. What a magical place it is, especially during the holidays. It was festive, the food was great, the server was fun and patient. Those folks work so hard in a location like this that is busy and multi leveled, serving a lot of different plates and knowing a large and varied menu. We were impressed with all of them. Loved our meal and our dining experience.

Everything was made fresh and with great quality food. We ordered the grilled octopus, it had great flavor & grilled nicely but still very chewy and somewhat tough. Probably should have been boiled a little longer before grilling. Lamb chops were the best dish but the portions were small. All in all 6.8 out of 10 bigger portions would change my mind
