Nestled amongst riverside treetops on Southgate’s mid level, La Camera boasts two balconies with stunning views over The Yarra River and iconic Flinders Street Station. The interior is adorned with vintage black-and-white photographs depicting the history of the family that has owned and operated the restaurant since it opened in 2000. La Camera Southgate offers an array of authentic Italian dishes including unique Roman-style pizzas, authentic Pappardelle Ox Cheek from Trastevere-Rome and by far the most delectable Tiramisu in town.     La Camera is our go-to restaurant when we want to eat in the city, whether it’s for a pre- or after-show meal or a date night. The food is consistently good and the service is always friendly. Plus the location is great!

    Absolutely brilliant Greek food, not a single misstep with anything we ordered. The food was just amazing. Serving sizes were generous very satisfying. Kids ordered souvlakis and were super happy, adults ordered lots of share plates and we were completely blown away by all the flavours. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks but they were busy so sometimes a bit slow but we didn’t care. We were made to feel very welcome and as it was a special occasion we were given a private dining area so we could chat away from the upstairs fun. This will become a regular for us!

    Moat is always amazing. We live locally and Moat is still our date night venue. We love it every time and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Everyone we have taken there has loved it and we are looking forward to our next visit.
