True Chesapeake is a Baltimore restaurant born of an oyster farm. Executive Chef Zack Mills creates a seasonal menu that showcases oysters from our farm in St. Jerome’s Creek, Southern Maryland — raw, roasted, and in signature dishes like Classic Rockefeller and French Onion Oysters. But, the oysters are just the beginning. Our award winning menu celebrates the bounty of the Chesapeake region by using locally sourced seafood, meat, and produce to create exquisite dishes that evolve with the seasons. Chef Mills has been featured extensively for his use of invasive seafood species, a very delicious way to help the Chesapeake Bay. Don't forget to order the Blue Crab and Bone Marrow dip or handmade pasta. We have an expertly curated wine list, beer selection, and cocktails - both classic and creative.     Food and drinks were great. The "stuffies" were perfect as was the baked cod and baked scallops. Lobster bisque was disappointing. One small piece of lobster and an overly seasoned (tarragon) base. Outstanding service.

    Good food and friendly service. If you are in the mood for something little bit different then this is your place. The bread was delicious as was the tuna tartare.

    The third recent meal at Black Bar & Kitchen, and this one also was excellent. My big, juicy burger nailed it - great meat, cooked perfectly (medium rare), fresh onion slice and crispy fries! My wife’s Branzino was well-seasoned and very fresh and tasty. We love the bar and high top table area - more fun than the dining room for couples. Wine’s were pricey- $17-$20 / glass - except for the delightful Malbec - just $9! I had two glasses at that price. Black’s keeps us coming Back!
