Jim Goode's love of seafood was born from a childhood spent along the sun-soaked Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. It was this love for coastal dishes, Cajun flavors and time spent together that Jim passed down to his own kids - and to the plates still on our menu today. Fresh food speaks for itself - so we don't send ours swimming in heavy sauces. Instead, our daily Gulf catch is grilled over mesquite or lightly battered and fried golden. Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette (LKRO) prides itself in it’s Oyster Bar. The multiple use seating at and around the Oysterette is inviting and friendly. The huge oyster, fresh seafood and whole fish display showcases seasonality and the vastness of the seafood offerings at LKRO. A traditional Japanese Robata Grill and a vertical 'Trompo' Grill are part of the Oysterette’s flexibility in a small space making the 'mini-kitchen' capable of producing freshly shucked oysters, grilled oysters, sushi, seafood towers and fresh carved tacos.Moving into the main kitchen, the menu is just as wide and deep with a variety of local and regional seafood dishes and local Texas Beef. The bar area is always a great experience. The service (we had Britney) is always above and beyond. She has the most positive energy and very attentive. And I can’t say enough about the live music on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with David de La Garza Trio. They are simply amazingly passionate and talented.

Service was very good. The devil eggs, delicious as the chicken. We also had the tuna tostada, amazing. The shrimp tacos, were so so.

One of my favorite restaurants in Houston. The food is always on point. The staff are all personable. The overall esthetic of the restaurant is well thought out and pleasing. When the weather is nice the outdoor seating is a huge bonus.
