"A unique and beautiful pizzeria in one of the hidden gems of South London; Venn St"We opened our pizzeria in Clapham a few years ago with a simple mission; serve great food in a beautiful space, like with all of the Berberè sites. Now, a few years later we have lovely local following that come in droves, especially at the weekend.Although open all year round, from springtime onwards you can sit outside on the terrace with a negroni, glass of prosecco or a craft beer and transport yourself to Italy, surrounded by festoon lights and olive trees. Inside, you'll find two beautiful rooms with an open kitchen that spreads across the two sides. If you're lucky and book enough in advance, you could hire the side room for a private booking (up to 40 people). We've had people celebrate birthdays galore, wedding parties, end of exam parties to name a few - you name the occasion and we'll sort the party.

Our ingredients are carefully sourced from the best suppliers and many of our dishes are made with speciality Denominazione di Origine Protetta (DOP) foods direct from Italy.As well as sourcing the best Italian ingredients, we’ve also developed our own special pizza base recipe. Our UNICA pizza dough is made with a multigrain blend of flours that is vitamin-rich and packed with fibre while delivering the same delicious taste. Low in sugar and high in antioxidants, this is pizza that is good for you!Our restaurants are a little corner of Italia in south east London. Cosy but elegant, with the warmth of family-friendly service delivered with the best wood-fired pizza you’ll find outside of Naples. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

What do you do when you want something done properly – especially when you’re a long way from home and you simply can’t find exactly what you’re looking for? Well, the tried and tested answer, of course, is to do it yourself – and that is exactly what Giuseppe, founder of Sapore Vero did, when he created our first Pizzeria in Beckenham, South East London – now entering its 11th year of trade – and then opened a 2nd in nearby Hither Green in 2019. After moving to London (quite some years ago now!), Giuseppe quickly found himself becoming frustrated with a lack of truly authentic Italian pizza, “that I liked”, as he puts it, produced using the methods that he grew up with, like generations before him, in his native Calabria, Southern Italy.
