Our waitress was very attentive, made sure our drinks were always filled and checked in at the right intervals to see if we needed anything. The place was packed, and she still gave us excellent service. The food was delicious. My kids are very picky eaters and they said it’s the best pizza they’ve ever had. We had the quac and cheese appetizer which was so tasty and the king salmon salad which was also good. This place has truly found its rhythm.\n\nWe ordered the trio pasta dinner, which was perfect for sharing. It felt like a sampler, but the portions were generous—we had plenty left over to take home. We also shared the Caesar salad and the garlic bread, both of which were excellent. For dessert, we split the tiramisu and the pistachio gelato, and honestly, both were incredible. A sweet and satisfying way to wrap up the meal.\n\nAs someone from the South, I noticed they don’t offer sweet tea (understandable), but their house-brewed iced tea was really refreshing—not the typical soda-machine stuff, which was a pleasant surprise.\n\nService was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt lively and upscale without being stuffy. It does get a little loud inside—likely due to the tall ceilings and acoustics—but we were still able to enjoy our conversation. Messina is a gem near Seattle Center and makes for a perfect pre-show dinner. Sitting atop the hill of Seattle's famed Queen Anne neighborhood can be found Via Tribunali, a true taste of southern Italy. This establishment is known for its traditional menu, which features one of the most authentic Neapolitan pizzas found outside of Naples itself. Using only fresh ingredients, the chefs at Via Tribunali rotate menu items to match the flavors of the season, giving diners the opportunity to experience real Naples cooking.Although its creative homemade pizza, like frutti di mare made with clams and mussels or Tomo 17 featuring Italian tuna, is what sets Via Tribunali apart on the Seattle culinary scene, the restaurant also offers a variety of Naples specialties. We opened our first pizzeria in 2004 in the burgeoning Capitol Hill neighborhood. For months before we opened curious onlookers poked their heads in the former auto body shop, and outlandish rumors spread. One person saw a team of masons reportedly flown in from Naples to build a gargantuan wood-fired oven, someone heard that the bricks also came from Naples rich with Vesuvian ash, a reporter ran a story about a taxi driver leading our owner down a dark Neaopolitan street to meet a talented Pizzaiolo who was then whisked to an airport….As it turns out almost all of the tall tales are true – on opening night people lined up for the authentic Neaopolitan pizza and since then our ovens have only gotten busier. Via Tribunali has been called "more authentic than the pizzerias of Naples," and even though that is a flattering exaggeration it is fair to say that our pizzerias have grown out of an almost unnatural passion for the food & wine of Southern Italy.
Enjoy creatively prepared American fare at Von's 1000Spirits Gusto Bistro. This charming spot features various flags draped across the ceiling and an open kitchen where patrons can watch the chefs at work. Owner Merrisa Firnstahl-Claridge and Executive Chef Jason Amador delight in offering delicious food with friendly service in a comfortable atmosphere. Patrons can choose from entrées like salmon cakes with pickled vegetables, homemade meatballs with pasta or a hoisin-glazed prime rib burger at Von's 1000Spirits Gusto Bistro. Sourdough pizza with a choice of toppings, salads, hearty sandwiches and vegetarian dishes also make for fulfilling meals.
Von's 1000Spirits Gusto Bistro is featured in publications such as The Seattle Times and The Stranger. It has happy hour with a sizable bar that serves cocktails as well as housemade vodka, gin and tequila. This bistro hosts private events for parties as well.

Jack assisted us in choosing the perfect wine pairings. Highlights were the pizza, the flank steak, the bucatini with braised meat. And the amazing key lime/baked alaska dessert created by Chris (Pastry Chef) was instagram worthy! 😋

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Our waitress was very attentive, made sure our drinks were always filled and checked in at the right intervals to see if we needed anything. The place was packed, and she still gave us excellent service. The food was delicious. My kids are very picky eaters and they said it’s the best pizza they’ve ever had. We had the quac and cheese appetizer which was so tasty and the king salmon salad which was also good. Fabulous experience before season opener for the Mariners.
My husband and I came back to Messina for a date night before the ballet at McCaw Hall, and it was just as memorable—if not more—than our first visit on their opening night back in December 2023. This place has truly found its rhythm.
We ordered the trio pasta dinner, which was perfect for sharing. It felt like a sampler, but the portions were generous—we had plenty left over to take home. We also shared the Caesar salad and the garlic bread, both of which were excellent. For dessert, we split the tiramisu and the pistachio gelato, and honestly, both were incredible. A sweet and satisfying way to wrap up the meal.
As someone from the South, I noticed they don’t offer sweet tea (understandable), but their house-brewed iced tea was really refreshing—not the typical soda-machine stuff, which was a pleasant surprise.
Service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt lively and upscale without being stuffy. It does get a little loud inside—likely due to the tall ceilings and acoustics—but we were still able to enjoy our conversation. Messina is a gem near Seattle Center and makes for a perfect pre-show dinner. We’ll definitely be back!
