Our kitchen:Inspired by six-time James Beard nominated Chef Whims' many trips to Italy, the kitchen at Oven and Shaker unites tradition and creativity in the arena of wood-fired Neapolitan pizza and Italian street food. Adhering to Cathy’s legendary passion for detail, we use only the freshest available local ingredients, dough made in-house using our signature 70-year-old sourdough starter, and hand-toss and fire each pizza to order. Our bar:Overseen by barman Ryan Magarian, the bar at Oven and Shaker reflects Ryan’s passion for all things liquid and delicious. From his acclaimed whimsical signatures that deploy only the finest spirits, daily-pressed juices, to our wide range of “sessionable” local beers and old world-leading wines, our bar strives to offer every guest a beverage to remember.

Portland's Oven and Shaker is a popular dining destination for locals and visitors who crave artisan pizzas and unique bar drinks served in a warm and inviting setting. The nettle pesto arancino rice ball made with parmesan risotto and mushrooms and the fried calamari and octopus fritto misto with lemon and honey make stunning starters. In addition to traditional pizza choices, like margherita and bianca, Oven and Shaker crafts specialty pizzas, like the maple pig topped with apple butter, smoked ham, pork belly and maple mascarpone, the goat cheese topped with roasted leeks, prosciutto and aged balsamic and the vegetarian cauliflower topped with peppers, olives and cheese. Walk in's are welcome! Group larger than 8 people can contact us directly for unlimited custom packages. Food and Beverage Minimum spend $45 for a la carte for larger groups. We are open Tuesday thru Saturday 12pm to 9:30pm. We are a small family owned Italian restaurant, which takes pride in serving delectable meals to our guests. Our outdoor patio is covered. Due to limited seating we cannot guarantee your reservation will be assigned indoors, and hold your table for more than 10 min past your reservation time. $20 no show fee per person will be charged.We are a scratch kitchen, all our (vegan) pastas, breads, desserts, sauces, salad dressings are homemade. Bring a date, friend or colleague and enjoy our elegant ambiance and full array of wines. We have a full bar and while you are here, try one of our yummy cocktails. Our Mushroom ravioli, the Lamb Pappardelle and Tortellini e pesto are some of our crowd favorites. We take pride in our Neapolitan style wood fired pizzas.

    Nostrana is an outstanding restaurant. The dining room and bar are quite beautiful and nicely furnished with quality design elements. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious with generous portions. We shared the wonderful Insalata Nostrana with radicchio, Parmesan Cheese, Caesar dressing and rosemary & sage croutons. For our Primi course we had the Gigli Pasta which was delightful and our Secondo course was the Mushroom stuffed Idaho Trout with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The trout was perfectly fried and deboned and, was topped by a generous dollop of black truffle butter which made it a very special dish. Nostrana is what a fine dining Italian Restaurant should aspire to. We’ll be back!

    Food was great. Plenty to share. The beet salad was delicious. We tried three pizzas (nightshade, pepperoni, and the fig special). All were fantastic. Drinks were also well done and the service was prompt and friendly.
