The Ship Inn is an oak-beamed country pub and restaurant, with a large open-fire place, built in 1681 in the picturesque Hampshire village of Owslebury (ten minutes from Winchester).The Ship Inn, Owslebury provides a great venue for wedding receptions, birthday parties, Christmas parties and other events, with both an inside and outside kitchen. Events can be held in either the restaurant or a marquee in the garden.Chef Philip Brown has pub kitchens in his DNA. He was Head Chef at The Royal Oak in Cheltenham, lifting the kitchen, and the pub, from obscurity to somewhere renowned across the county for its food.His current position as Head Chef of The Ship Inn is the culmination of fifteen years of menu refining, flavour combinations and taste tests, to bring you a menu combining classic comfort food and exceptional dishes designed to impress - bringing a taste of fine dining to your pub dinner in this traditional setting.

    WE had a great evening at The George Unn. The service was absolutely spot on we never felt rushed but also the staff were there when needed. The food was excellent the cod loin was perfectly prepared and the steak cooked perfectly. Overall a great dining experience and we will be back

    The valentines meal we ate lunch time was absolutely delicious . Each of the courses were generous portions , cooked beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed . We loved the treat of a glass of champagne too ! The staff as ever were attentive , engaging and an absolute joy to be with John was brilliant and we so enjoyed our chat with him . The atmosphere was great , the Farmhouse was warm and inviting . All in all it was great and highly recommended !

    Friendly and welcoming staff in this lovely quaint pub. We had a couple of drinks and dinner in the charming old bar. Great local to visit.

    First visit, will defo call again. Food took a little time but that was because it was freshly cooked. Large portions and also had a pudding so now can barely move 😀. The young man behind the bar was very friendly, helpful and efficient.

    We are not from the area but met here on the way to the ferry port. The staff were friendly and welcoming, great selection of beer and a nice atmosphere. We had steak and chips which was wonderful. Thank you.
