Helmed by Executive Chef Rick Lopez, La Condesa’s menu features interior Mexican dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, plus a renowned bar program with one of the largest collections of tequila, mezcal and other Mexican spirits in the city.

Tomalo is a worldly Mexican inspired restaurant, created by UrbanSpace Hospitality, that draws influences from various regions of Mexico and beyond. Tomalo anchors the ground level of the 44 East Ave. Residences, the skyscraper on the banks of Lady Bird Lake where East Ave meets Rainey St. We source and utilize local ingredients and a focus on community. Reservations are recommended but walk-ins are welcomed any day of the week (closed Mondays).

    Wonderful experience! The flavors were amazing, very different from Texmex. The queso flameado is so good and the masa tortillas divine. Will definitely be back. The service was warm and attentive, and they accommodated for gluten free diet for most dishes.

    I had an incredible experience at this Oaxacan gem! The service was absolutely outstanding—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Their variety of moles is a true highlight, each one rich and bursting with authentic flavor. The wagyu deshebrada taco was simply unforgettable—perfectly tender and seasoned to perfection. To top it off, their mezcal selection is extensive, offering something for every palate. Whether you’re a mezcal connoisseur or just curious to try, you’ll find plenty to love here. Highly recommended for anyone looking to savor the best of Oaxacan cuisine!

    Absolutely Love this place. I had reservation as a solo guest and they made me feel so very welcomed. ALL the food was delicious and the chef personally came out to explain some of the meals.. AWESOME PLACE
