The Blackbird Bar and Restaurant, at 37-39 Leven Street in the Bruntsfield area of south-west Edinburgh, serves modern Scottish cuisine. It is located close to The Meadows public park, less than 10 minutes by car or taxi from Waverley and Haymarket Railway Stations; Edinburgh Castle and the city centre are around 20 minutes' walk away. Breakfast was outstanding. Simple but flavorful. I had the haggis Benedict and the wife and apple pancakes. If you've never had Haggis, this is definitely a good watch to try it for the first time.

It was absolutely amazing. The venison Wellington was to die for, and very reasonably priced. The processes of meat explanation and choice of weapon (aka, knives) were entertaining, and made the meal that much more enjoyable. Louise, our server, was so kind and thorough- she deserves a raise and every major holiday off. And as a bonus, the manager is very charming and handsome :) Definitely stop by if you get the chance!

Excellent experience, we all loved it. Only thing that disappointed us was the very slow service. Kids were starving - 1h delay but the food was delicious
