Had the chef’s tasting menu which was perfect in every way. Each course was delicious, imaginative and expertly prepared. Started out with an arugula salad which had so many contrasting tastes and textures, followed by swordfish “belly” kabobs which were very tasty. Next shrimp linguini, 3 huge shrimp with pasta perfectly prepared, followed by a dark chocolate budino. Meal was fabulous. Companion enjoyed oysters with a caviar dressing, followed by an expertly prepared flank steak with fried olives. Every dish had a some unusual interesting preparation which delighted the palate. Drift is truly a winner.

As “locals” now after 7 years here, we’ve gone to The Parkway many times. It has always been consistently very good, and last night was no exception! I had the mushroom soup and wedge salad followed by the Sea Bass special, and my wife had the Oysters Rockefeller, pear salad, and the Ribeye special. Our server was terrific, attentive but not too much, and she was very knowledgeable about the food. Prices have gone up everywhere, so the value isn’t what it was, but that’s true at all restaurants. Unfortunately, $300+ for dinner for 2 (fully loaded with tip, several drinks, dessert, etc) seems to be the norm nowadays. Great music too, and always a friendly vibe!

On December 28th, 2024 we had an excellent dinner at The Washington Inn. My wife had roasted wild mushroom soup, baked escargot, and the colors of the garden salad. I had 2 oysters and seafood cioppino. For dessert we shared Bananas Foster. All the food was excellent along with the service. This restaurant exudes old time Cape May quality and I am sorry we have not dined here more often. The bill came to $150 including tip.

We have been dining at One Coastal for many years, predating the arrival of James Beard Award Finalist Chef Matt Kern. We were so delighted that after One Coastal changed hands we were able to enjoy the same unrivaled, creative, fresh Delaware cuisine. Tonight our family ordered the duck and the rockfish. Both were expertly executed. The flavor profiles of both dishes were unusual, cohesive, and delightful. My husband and I both enjoyed our cocktails, a Duchess and a Ryanhatten. Small intimate dinning room in the Washington pedestrian mall. Professional, friendly & attentive staff. Attractively decorated for the holiday while still maintaining elegance. It is BYOB. The New England Clam Chowder was flavorful with generous amount of clams. Husband had grilled polenta with broccoli rabe & fresh shaved Pecorino Romano cheese “like Mom used to make.” I couldn’t finish my seafood risotto. So generous was the portion of local shrimp, scallops & clams though I tried ! Husband had Shrimp & Salmon with mash potatoes in chili sauce. Delicious. Try the Pumpkin cheesecake & you’ll think it’s Thanksgiving again. Highly reccomended
