Entering the Saloon, a family owned restaurant since it opened in 1967 is a bit like stepping into Philadelphia's past. Dark oak paneling, shiny brass and authentic local antiques create a warm congenial and casual atmosphere. The choice of two comfortable dining rooms each with its own vintage bars make dining and conversation a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Both bars feature a delicious and moderately priced food menu. The menu is Italian with seafood specials such as grilled octopus and dover sole. Saloon steaks and veal chops are legendary. We brought out of town guests to eat at this wonderful restaurant. From the front desk as you arrive, to the waitress and the food was all on point. Great professional staff, clean and inviting environment. We each had something different from, Branzino, Veal Saltimbocca, Gnocchi and Pork Chops and all were perfect. The restaurant was packed. This restaurant is always a perfect choice.

The food and service is amazing. This restaurant is a neighborhood gem. I am certain it will quickly become a hard reservation to get. The wait staff is attentive without being smothering. They are there when you need them, and they give you space when you don’t. The fried sea bass was great and their shrimp cocktail is to die for. Ask for their hot sauce.
