River House Restaurant and Raw Bar is Louisville’s premiere riverfront dining destination. It is the vision of award-winning chef and restaurateur John Varanese and seats 330 in its main dining room, raw bar, and patio. Guests experience a charming “home like” atmosphere as they enter the restaurant from the front porch garden area. Enter through a 20-foot tall by 40-foot wide water wall, and enjoy intimate decor, and a floor-to-ceiling glass wall overlooking the back courtyard and river, River House is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. The menu features regional cuisine with a Southern flair and an emphasis on fresh seafood including Grilled Oysters on the Half Shell, BBQ Braised Beef Short Rib, and the Maker’s Mark Bourbon Barrel Smoked Salmon. Our 15 foot raw bar features assorted raw oysters, king crab, and jumbo shrimp. Reservations are recommended. We look forward to serving you!

hiko-A-mon is a dining experience like traditional yet modern Japanese influenced by European and South East Asia. The menu features modern Japanese dishes as well as signature offerings inspired by traditional restaurants in Kyoto, Japan, where chef hiko was born and grown up. Also, hiko-A-mon has a noticeable wine list as well as a sake and shochu list. This is because Chef Hiko has a passion for wine.     We had a cocktail and then decided to eat in the bar area. The bartenders were friendly and informative. Our server/bartender, was Sapporo (sp?). She was great, and there when we needed her. We ordered the tuna won tons and lobster bisque to start. Both were delicious! I had the crab stuffed halibut and my wife had the torchio pasta. Both were tasty, and large portions. We received a nice size pour for the wines we ordered. The room had a nice buzz on a cold evening. Will definitely be back.

    This was our second time dining at Steak & Bourbon and I have to say this has been our favorite dining experience in Louisville! Our server was attentive, hospitable and excellent! For drinks, my wife ordered the Bourbon Smash and I ordered a Blue Moon. Our dining experience began with bread that was salted perfectly with a house made butter candle nestled in the middle. This alone is an impressive start to our date night! Then we ordered the Steak and Cheese Hand Pies which were the perfect combination of flakey crust, steak, cheese and sauce! Our server had refilled our beverages and reset our utensils between each plate. The biggest decision of the evening, which steak to choose? We both ordered the center cut filet, I went for the 10 oz and she ordered the 7 oz, both with Au Poivre sauce. Our side was the Shepherd's Pie. Everything was perfectly cooked, tender and we ended our dining experience more than satisfied! We can't wait for our next visit to Steak and Bourbon!

    This was my second time coming to River house and once a again a beautiful expierence our waiter was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed it was so quiet and we enjoyed the outside heated area so much as well as our food and the complimentary cornbread! Definitely will be back!
