Love and Salt is a story that begins with Cafe Pierre, a restaurant birthed by Guy Gabriele in 1977 to bring a taste of France to Los Angeles’ South Bay. While Cafe Pierre was a beloved part of the community for nearly 37 years, in 2014, Guy and his daughter Sylvie Gabriele, now the owner of Love and Salt, closed the restaurant to bring new life to the iconic space.Love and Salt is a philosophy: that food needs only two ingredients to be great. Large bowls of colorful citrus for making cocktails sit atop a twenty-foot long bar perfect for grabbing a glass of wine or a bite to eat. As you explore further towards the display kitchen, you enter our lounge, also referred to as the wine library. Knotted wood shelves display our wines, divided up by wine region. Windows surround the North side of the dining room, allowing our guests to gaze out onto the fountain in our courtyard. I describe the décor as thoughtful and collective, creating little vignettes for dining areas. Pretty much a perfect dining experience. Rarely have I felt so welcomed in any place. Every single menu item was an absolute banger. There was nothing at all meh. Everything was well considered and thoroughly thought through. 10/10.

We made a reservation to try Fixins Los Angeles. The service was outstanding from the greeting at the hostess desk to the wait staff to the delivery of our food. Parking was tricky because there was a LA Kings game. The food came out extremely quick - literally 2 minutes after we ordered. The collard greens were good but had a little vinegar taste, fried chicken was delicious, but the star of the meal was the cornbread muffin. Melt in your mouth!

I have been to Joyce several times and for me it’s one of my favorite and best restaurants in Los Angeles. The food is as good as it looks, the vibrations are amazing, I love the staff and crave the food I have to keep going back. You have to experience Joyce. It’s one of the best 💙
