Celebrating authentic Singaporean, Malaysian and Chinese cuisines made from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. The new restaurant has undergone a full interior renovation and features an upscale bar. The Bugis is set in the elegant ambience of the Bailey’s Hotel South Kensington. Why not savour the signature appetiser, “Steamed Cornish Diver Scallops with Black Bean Sauce or Salt and Pepper Soft Shell Crab with Fresh Chilli.” The restaurant prides itself on using finest local British suppliers, for example “Hainanese Chicken” which is sourced from Norfolk A fusion of fine Asian food, choose from Noyonya Assam Fillet Seabass, Golden Fragrance Kam Heong Chicken or sliced Angus beef with black bean sauce to name a few delicious dishes. The bloke on the left. Well he’s our father, our Babuji. His journey started back in 1959. Before arriving in the UK Babuji decided to travel through Bangladesh, India then Pakistan, teaching, learning and eating lots on the way. In particular the street stalls of Calcutta, Mumbai, and Lahore were his favourites. Our food is a homage to the street vendors and Cafés of South Asia. Combining dishes that Babuji encountered in his journey. From Bengali bites, to street stall favourites of Mumbai, and traditional homely Pakistani dishes. By the way, we eat with our hands, cos that’s the Babuji way.

    A great find behind the very busy Edgware Road. A small, quaint basic restaurant, but the food was authentic. It was constantly busy, so I am presuming it is testimony to the quality of the food. When I arrived (5.20pm), the restaurant was not open (5.30pm opening). It was raining, and despite me standing outside getting wet, I was a little perturbed that they did not open the door and invite me in - I found that very strange!! Apart from that, the staff were very attentive and sometimes a little too eager to remove our plates, even though we had not finished. I do not like my hot food to be put on cold plates, a little aggravating, but something that should be addressed.

    We lunched at Lucky Cat Chefs Table thanks to my nephew, Robbie, on a day that was very poignant to us as as Robbie is L.A. based and has been evacuated today from Encino due to the Palisades fire. Our thoughts and prayers to all in LA and an ENORMOUS thank you to Ken and Sean at Lucky Cat for such a wonderful experience. Amazing food - every course an absolute visual and savoury delight ❤️
