Entering the Saloon, a family owned restaurant since it opened in 1967 is a bit like stepping into Philadelphia's past. Dark oak paneling, shiny brass and authentic local antiques create a warm congenial and casual atmosphere. The choice of two comfortable dining rooms each with its own vintage bars make dining and conversation a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Both bars feature a delicious and moderately priced food menu. The menu is Italian with seafood specials such as grilled octopus and dover sole. Saloon steaks and veal chops are legendary. Many prefer a plate of fried long hot peppers to compliment the steaks. All desserts and gelatos are made on the premises daily.     Have been here multiple times in 2024 and this is first visit in 2025. Service and food are always excellent. I have been impressed by every server I have had and today was no exception. Emily was great!

    This is our absolute favorite restaurant. We have been going for a number of years and it never disappoints. The service is always completely on point. The food always the perfect temperature and absolutely delicious and always fresh. Love the ambience. It’s the perfect amount of calm/relaxing/ charming/cozy/fancy,but not overly stuffy. Perfect date night and family night location for celebrating a special ocassion.

    Was a delightful classic Italian meal. We had pasta and seafood dishes and everything was outstanding. The mussels in white wine sauce were particularly delicious. The service was exceptional. I’ve been here a few times in the 70s/80s and it was fun to take our children there! ❤️

    Amazing dinner with a wonderful menu of selections. We are on a family trip for the Christmas week and found La Famiglia as a walkable restaurant from our hotel. From the moment we arrived we were treated exceptionally and the evening was a spectacular visit for us. We had the Branzino special, the stuffed veal special and the pasta of the day. Really exceptional place to eat!
