History has been written inside the walls of the Wharf, with its 1790's style architecture featuring original wood columns and beams that are charred black from a Civil War fire. Since 1971, satisfied diners have been heading to The Wharf in Old Town for whole Maine lobster, local soft shell crabs and prime steaks. Although it was a busy time - Christmas day, the restaurant accommodated customers with a gracious reception. Even people who had no reservations were graciously accommodate. The menu was well formulated to accommodate most price ranges. I was especially happy with my selection which was the three course holiday menu. The food was delicious, ample helping and nicely arranged.

It was an exceptional overall experience. It was amazing not only restaurant was open, but they served special festive menu for Christmas Eve! The food was delicious, and manager himself made a Tableside Torched Apple Manhattan. I only feel the courses were rushed and there should have been sometime between each course to enjoy and savor dishes. Especially, dessert was brought while we had not finished the main course.

Great Holiday Dinner! Our server was phenomenal—unfortunately, I don’t recall his name, but he’s been with the restaurant since its opening many years ago. The staff made sure my children could enjoy their meals while having a wonderful time. The ambiance was fantastic, and the food was exceptional. Absolutely no complaints!
