We have been to Mastros in Beverly Hills and Newport Beach. It was nice to try another one since we moved to San Diego and don't go as much as we used to. Beautiful restaurant. We happened to be staying a block away. Kansas City Strip with roasted bone marrow. Yum!

The ASH Old Fashion was the best I’ve had. Great combo of orange bitters and brown sugar. The short rib appetizer was fantastic as was the fried rice side dish. We also had the oysters on the half shell and Hamachi shooters. They were fresh and good, but not extraordinary. We had fillets and a ribeye. Everything was cooked as ordered. The pomegranate jus/sauce served with my fillet (prime, domestic) was wonderful. We also ordered the F1 fillet and the ribeye. Both were great and the comment on the ribeye was that it was ”among the best I’ve had, very flavorful”. The truffle fries were delicious and arrived perfectly hot. The wine list is extensive, fairly priced and features many of our favorites. Anthony, our server was attentive and engaged in a way that added to our enjoyment of the evening.

Truly one of the best dining experiences in SF— and I’m a big foodie.

Great dishes and drinks here. There is a green chartreuse margarita with a matcha syrup that I highly recommend!
